Martin Luther’s Bier, Brats, and Bible Klub

–        a Ministry and Fellowship group for the men of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Stafford, VA.

The Martin Luther’s Bier, Brats, and Bible Klub  (BBB) is a small group created purposely for the men of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in order to give them a specific and secure environment for fellowship, prayer, worship, witness, and service based on the needs of men.

“A small group is an intentional gathering of a small number of people who commit themselves to regular meetings for the purpose of becoming better disciples of Jesus Christ.”[1]  Small groups are ideal environments to grow spiritually, develop relationships and deepen friendships.  They also provide members with an opportunity to witness and serve God’s community.

  •  Small Groups for men:

  •             Are Biblical

  •             Help us learn and practice Christian principles

  •             Help us build relationships

  •             Provide support

  •             Provide a forum to pray for one another

  •             Provide an opportunity for accountability

  •             Form discipleship

  •             Provide occasions for witnessing

  •             Offer opportunities for service within and outside the group.[2]

Activities for the group include regular, monthly gatherings at individual’s homes, restaurants, and public venues; service projects for St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and the community at large; opportunities for fellowship (sporting events, fieldtrips, camping, etc); and opportunities for spiritual and personal growth and development.

The BBB has constructed a fenced garden and planted fruit trees for the Food Pantry.  Caring for and using God’s natural resources wisely is a concern for the men’s group.  The group designed and installed a rain water retention system which is utilized to water the Food Pantry garden.

The BBB sponsors the church’s God and Country program for local scouts providing structured Christian Education to Boy and Girl Scouts in the community.  The group is also working with a local Boy Scout’s Eagle Scout project on designing and constructing an outdoor worship area for the church and is working to design, raise funds and construct a playground for the children of St. Peter’s.
